GEAR REVIEWS

On this page you’ll find reviews of disc golf related gear including baskets, bags, shoes, rangefinders and more.

This video covers absolutely everything you need to know about the Zuca All Terrain disc golf cart. I look at the various cart options and why I chose the Zuca. I then do a semi-unboxing followed by full assembly. I’ll cover all of the available accessories as well as some of the best 3rd party options. Finally, I’ll let you know what I think about the Zuca and answer the question, “is it really worth it?”

Thanks to MVP, I take an in-depth look at the Parsec laser rangefinder. This video includes an unboxing, comparison with the Bushnell Edge, demonstration of the 9 different modes and a full review. The Parsec’s features include an effective operating range of 800 metres or 2600 feet, 6x magnification, 9 different operating modes, target-lock vibration, magnetic cart mount, and a rechargeable lithium battery. The Parsec comes with a USB charging cable, microfibre cleaning cloth and a sturdy protective case. It retails for US$179.

I’ve had a Disc Talon retriever by Hive Disc Golf for about 6 months now and it paid for itself a number of times over. I was amazed at how often I use it. Up trees, in water, in thorny bushes, over fences, on roofs – it does it all. The Disc Talon weighs less than 500 grams, is 460 mm long and extends to 4.8 metres or 16 feet.

MVP Disc Sports have just released the Disc Station – an all-metal rack that can hold well over 200 golf discs. Fully assembled it has 6 shelves, measures 1.68 x 0.61 x 0.46 metres [66 x 24 x 18 inches] and weighs 14 kg [31 lb]. In this video I unbox the Disc Station, assemble it and test it’s storage capacity. It can also be assembled into a 3 shelf half rack measuring 0.93 x 0.61 x 0.46 metres [37 x 24 x 18 inches] and weighing 9 kg [20 lb].

AOFAR sent me the GX-2S and GX-6F Pro golf rangefinders to test out and see how they handle disc golf. How do they stack up against the more expensive competitors.

For those who requested it and to celebrate 1,000 subscribers, here’s my “In The Bag” video. But I’m doing it a little differently to everyone else – I’m doing it blindfolded and donating $5 to a charity for every disc that I get wrong. Find out how well I know my own discs?

In this video I’m checking out the Axiom Shuttle Disc Golf Backpack – a bag that retails for less than 50 bucks (Aussie). Is it any good or just cheap junk? It’s also 12 months since my review of the MVP Voyager Pro V2 disc golf bag and I revisit to see if it’s held up.

New to the sport or maybe you just missed this one. If you’re looking for a mobile game to scratch you disc golfing itch, this game is definitely worth checking out. Available on IOS, Android as well as PC and Mac via na Android emulator.

I show you how to make an inexpensive disc golf cart using an old golf cart as a base. Feel free to modify and customise the design to suit yourself.

An unboxing, assembly and initial review of the Axiom Pro Disc Golf Basket. This lightweight, portable basket is available in 7 colours and quickly breaks down for easy transport to your favourite practise location.

A full review of the MVP Voyager Pro V2 Disc Golf Bag. Coming in 5 colour choices and holding 20-22 discs comfortably, this disc golf backpack is worth a look.

I look at what characteristics are required for the perfect disc golf shoe. I then give a honest review on the Salomon Speedcross 4 & 5 shoe.

I ask the question, “do you need a rangefinder for disc golf?”. I check out the Bushnell range of golf rangefinders and then review a much cheaper alternative – the Boblov LF600G. Is it worth it?

Disc golfers love their music and the Tribit Stormbox is a very affordable and high quality bluetooth speaker that is worth a look.

A good quality and inexpensive alternative to the more expensive disc golf branded tripod stools.
